Pharmacotherapeutic group: ANTIBACTERIAL ANTIBIOTICS of the lincosamide family (J: Anti-infective).
This medicinal product is indicated for the curative treatment of certain severe bacterial infections due to germs sensitive to this antibiotic, in their ENT, broncho-pulmonary, stomatological manifestation, cutaneous, genital, osteoarticular, post-surgical abdominal, septicaemic, with the exception of meningeal infections (even with sensitive germs) due to insufficient diffusion in the CSF.
This medicine is also indicated to prevent infective endocarditis (infection in the heart) during dental care and procedures relating to the upper airways during ambulatory care, in case of allergy to beta-lactams (Penicillins, cephalosporins
